Muddys new gaming headphones.

Any suggestions? My trusty old speedlinks broke at the weekend - a physical break in the plastic just above the ear so it flops half on and half off my ear, not very comfortable. My budget could stretch to £100 if it was worth it. I'm quite interested in these new USB soundcard built in type of phones as my sound card is nothing to write home about - just the one built in to my Mobo. A mic is essential natch.

Re: Muddys new gaming headphones.

Can you push it up 30 quid?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-G4ME ... ords=pc360

by the way if you use 3.5mm or usb won't really make much difference as soundcards aren't going to be amazing in a usb headphone either, only difference is adds "surround" but good stereo headphones can have exceptional sound stage anyway and you only have two "actual" speakers, not 7 and a subwoofer!

Re: Muddys new gaming headphones.

Glad you brought this subject up Mudster as my Headphones are on their last legs too!!

I have the Plantronics headphones which Gav recommended and I have to admit that they have served me very well for about 4/5 yrs. They are very comfortable and are decent for the price.
My wiring has become loose and so I have lost partial sound on the left headphone and mic not always working now

I was looking at replacing them with a wireless set such as the logitech G930 which you can pick up on amazon for around £80

Re: Muddys new gaming headphones.

I don't have a good mic so for 22 quid even the Plantronics GameCom 388 look very tempting

OK - I went with these in the end:

Nice review of them here:

I went for gunmetal - the screaming red would not go with my hair.

I take it you did not buy it based on the sales video up on the amazon site.

Re: Muddys new gaming headphones.

Well I can say so far I'm impressed by the packaging! Very comfy on the ears and blocks out more extraneous noise than my old ones. Was a doddle to install - just plugged em in.
