My GPU blew a gasket last night. Was getting hotter I noticed - 68C on idle! Ouch. Well it bit the dust. Have a crappy little thing installed at the mo, Nvidia Quadro 1500, pricey but crap (something to do with certifying a card to run with high end drawing packages - was a cast off from one of the work drawing office machines)
Dunno if it will handle CSS - probalby not looking at the size of the fan (tiny!). So this Friday might be a non starter.
On a happier note, I'm looking for a new GPU!. Budget £100+, PCIe. Any suggestions?

ATi 6950! as per in the forum :- http://www.ofcgaming.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5830
Nice card that handles everything at stock speeds. Latest games at high settings etc. And you can if you wish..... Do what I did if you feel brave
. No real need to though to be honest. No game out there that really taxes it at stock speeds.

i have been using one of these for the last 3yrs http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... ubcat=1982 cant recommend the 5/6770 highly enough for a £100 budget !
they are down to about £85 these days, but their performance for that money is outstanding, it will run everything on highest settings at reasonable resolution, untill BF3 came along, it will run it fine but with everything turned off to get a decent frame rate, but i found another one on ebay for £35 and set them up in crossfire and BF3 now runs great !!

Fek - that needs 2 6 pin connectors - I think my PSU only has 1 - can you convert 4 pin molex to 6 pin?

ime sure my 5770's only use one 6pin plug, but i think you get a molex-6pin converter with most ATI cards these days.

Asus EAH6850 is good value at £99.95 inc vat from Overclockers.co.uk, and has a single 6-pin PCIe.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... ubcat=1866
They rip you off on dispatch though (£8.25?) and it's cheaper overall on Amazon with free shipping:

If your budget really is £100 I think you'd be hard pressed to beat this.

Well the £100+ was sorta variable. I've just bought a GTX 560 Ti from e-bay - new at £129 from Hungary - free delivery. (Asus made and it has 2gig of ram too)
Just have to wait for delivery now......
Did like the look of the ati 6950 which by Toms charts was equivalent to the one I bought but I could not find one below £175. So Nvidia won this time!
